Job summary

Capital One is seeking a Mobile Engineer 4 - Android (Remote-Eligible) to drive major mobile initiatives. You will partner with engineers, designers, and product managers to deliver high-performing features for 100M+ customers, and provide technical leadership across mobile architecture.

You will mentor teammates, lead architecture discussions, and contribute to SDUI/Backend-for-Frontend strategies while advancing testing, performance, and accessibility standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science or related quantitative field.
• At least 4 years of professional software engineering experience (internship experience does not apply).
• At least 3 years of experience building native mobile applications for Android (Kotlin) or iOS (Swift).

Responsibilities

• Partner with software engineers, designers, and product managers to deliver high-performing features for 100M+ customers.
• Provide technical leadership for mobile architecture and design patterns.
• Mentor other engineers with code reviews and best practices.
• Grow and provide subject matter expertise in key platform areas like performance and accessibility.
• Contribute to mobile architecture decisions and API design reviews.
• Lead the design of Backend-for-Frontends and Server-Driven UI architectures.
• Refine engineering practices, feature flags, and staged rollouts.
• Champion agentic AI tools to increase team velocity.
