Job summary

Lyft is seeking an Android Software Engineer to join the Rider Experience team within Lyft Urban Solutions in Montreal. You will build the Android experiences powering bike-share and scooter-share features, delivering fast and reliable user experiences backed by robust backend systems.

The ideal candidate has 1–3 years of software engineering experience, strong Kotlin skills, and hands-on experience with Jetpack Compose and declarative UI.

Qualifications

• BS/MS in CS/CE or equivalent practical experience.
• 1–3 years software engineering experience.
• Experience with Kotlin and Android development.
• Experience with Jetpack Compose and declarative UI.
• Ability to collaborate in a cross-functional team.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, deploy, monitor, and maintain Rider Experience Android components end to end.
• Write reliable, performant, and well-tested code with good test coverage.
• Reduce technical debt and improve tooling and code structure.
• Collaborate with product, data science, analytics, and ops teams to move fast without breaking things.
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to engineering best practices.
