Current is seeking an Android Software Engineer in New York to build native mobile experiences for our fintech platform. You will own features from design through launch, collaborating with product, design, and backend teams in a fast-moving environment, with a strong emphasis on performance and architectural quality.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of native Android development with Kotlin.
• Strong knowledge of Android fundamentals: lifecycles, DI (Hilt), multithreading, persistence, Jetpack components (Compose, Material 3, Navigation, ViewModel).
• Experience with modular app architecture, unidirectional data flow, MVVM, and Gradle modules.
• Proven codebase collaboration with a strong code-review culture.
• Genuine interest in the personal finance space.

Responsibilities

• Own delivery of Android features from system design through launch with senior support.
• Collaborate with product, design, and backend engineers to enable end-to-end experiences.
• Contribute to scalable, reusable mobile frameworks and tooling.
• Raise the bar on architecture, testing, and monitoring practices in code.
• Impact Current's users by enabling financial products and experiences.
