Job summary

Branch International is seeking an Android Intern to enhance the Branch Android app by adding new features, optimizing performance, and helping steer the app's technical direction. You will collaborate with Android engineers, product managers, engineers, and designers to deliver a smooth, reliable user experience and participate in code reviews and architecture discussions.

You will own projects end-to-end, propose improvements, and contribute to the evolving mobile product.

Qualifications

Experience building native Android apps with real users or open-source projects.
Solid computer science fundamentals.
Proficient in Kotlin and modern Android practices.
Strong Jetpack Compose skills for responsive UI.
Experience with REST APIs and backend integrations.
Deep understanding of app performance and stability.
Curiosity to learn other tech stack as needed.
Experience with AI-assisted development workflows.
Clear written and verbal communication, async-friendly.

Responsibilities

Build features for the Branch Android app and improve user experience.
Collaborate with backend teams to integrate APIs and support new product features.
Improve app performance, stability, and overall reliability.
Work with product, design, and engineers to deliver features end-to-end.
Support integrations with third-party services such as payments, authentication, analytics.
Participate in code reviews, technical discussions, and team collaboration.
Take ownership of features from development to release.
Improve code quality, testing, and maintainability of the Android codebase.
