The App Platform team at Whatnot builds the shared foundations that power every mobile experience. As an Android engineer on this team, you'll contribute to core mobile infrastructure focusing on stability, performance, and observability across the entire app surface. This includes building and maintaining frameworks that make our mobile apps resilient, fast, and deeply measurable—enabling teams across Whatnot to deliver world-class experiences to our users.
You’ll help scale and refine our Android stack, design tools and patterns that enable developer velocity, and lead efforts to ensure that every session, stream, and tap is monitored and understood. From low-level crash segmentation to high-level stream health diagnostics, you'll be part of the team that defines what excellence looks like on Whatnot's Android application.
Team members in this role are required to be within commuting distance of our hubs in San Francisco, Los Angeles, Seattle, New York City, London, or Krakow.

As our next Android engineer on the App Platform team, you should have 3+ years of full-time software engineering experience in high-growth startups, plus:
For US-based applicants: $165,000/year to $216,000/year + benefits + equity. The final salary depends on level, experience, skills, and expertise. This range includes base salary only, excluding benefits and equity.
