Job summary

Software Guidance & Assistance, Inc. (SGA, Inc.) is seeking a Senior Android Engineer for a contract assignment in Alpharetta, GA.

You will architect, build, and optimize features for flagship Android applications, collaborating with product and design to ensure high performance and code quality. The role requires 5–7 years of Android experience, strong Kotlin and Coroutines knowledge, and hands-on experience with MVVM, Jetpack Compose, and Android Architecture Components.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
• 5–7 years of experience building and maintaining large-scale Android applications.
• Deep knowledge of Kotlin and Kotlin Coroutines.
• Hands-on experience with Android Architecture Components, MVVM, and Jetpack Compose.
• Strong hands-on experience leveraging AI tooling across the SDLC.
• Excellent OO design and development skills.
• Experience with asynchronous programming and concurrency on Android.
• Proven experience with unit testing and UI testing frameworks.
• Track record of high productivity in app architecture, design, coding, debugging.
• Experience with Jenkins and enterprise-level branching/merging workflows.
• Understanding of mobile performance, latency, security; and use of performance tools.

We are seeking a Senior Android Engineer to help drive development of our flagship Android applications. As a senior member of the team, you will architect, build, and optimize new features, collaborate closely with product and design, and champion best practices in code quality and mobile performance.

• Experience with enterprise-level branching/merging workflows using Jenkins.
• Strong understanding of mobile performance, latency, and security issues, with hands-on experience using performance analysis tools.
• Solid grasp of current technological trends, best practices in information security, wireless network architecture, mobile technologies, and related concepts.

Preferred Skills

• Familiarity with Room, Dagger, and other libraries commonly used in our tech stack (huge plus).
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment processes.
• Previous experience mentoring junior engineers or leading small development teams.
• Open source contributions or active engagement in the Android developer community
