Job summary

Zebra is seeking an experienced Android Developer Experience Lead to establish and scale the DevEx function across Android-based business units. You will elevate developer experience for partners, ISVs, and internal teams by delivering robust tooling, strong support, and AI-enabled automation.

The role requires deep Android expertise, Java/Kotlin proficiency, and proven leadership of cross‑functional technical initiatives. This hybrid role offers opportunities for strategic impact and growth.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 10+ years of relevant experience with a Bachelor's or 7+ years with an Advanced Degree.
• Deep expertise in Android platform, development lifecycle, and developer tools.

Responsibilities

• Chair and lead the Android Developer Experience Council, setting the technical agenda and driving cross-functional decisions.
• Author and enforce API Guidelines for design, docs, and versioning.
• Champion API as a Product mindset for every developer-facing interface.
• Act as chief evangelist for the Android developer platform and DevEx initiatives.
• Represent Zebra at industry conferences and community events to boost credibility.
• Develop and oversee technical training programs to accelerate onboarding.
• Maintain strategic roadmap for Android developer experience, balancing tooling and AI automation.
• Be the Voice of the Developer inside Zebra to drive improvements.
