Publicis Sapient in Chicago is seeking an Android Developer to build modern mobile apps using Kotlin and Jetpack Compose. You’ll own well-defined features, deliver accessible and performant UI, and collaborate with senior engineers to align with design systems and engineering standards.

The role emphasizes quality through unit/UI testing, analytics instrumentation, and adherence to coding standards. Hybrid work model in Chicago with opportunities to leverage AI-assisted tools and growth.

Qualifications

• Experience developing Android applications using Kotlin.
• Exposure to or hands-on experience with Jetpack Compose for building UI.
• Understanding of modern Android architecture patterns (e.g., MVVM or similar).
• Familiarity with writing unit tests and/or UI tests for Android applications.
• Awareness of accessibility fundamentals in mobile development.
• Understanding of version control systems such as Git.
• Ability to follow coding standards and contribute to a collaborative team environment.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to learn quickly in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Translate product requirements into clean, functional UI using Jetpack Compose and the existing design system.
• Build and maintain UI screens and reusable components using Compose and design tokens.
• Write readable, maintainable Kotlin code aligned with team standards and patterns.
• Implement analytics instrumentation for features following naming conventions.
• Apply accessibility best practices to ensure inclusive experiences.
• Write unit tests and UI tests to validate feature quality.
• Participate in code reviews and contribute feedback with a growth mindset.
• Take ownership of small features from development through testing and delivery under guidance.
