Job summary

Envision is seeking an experienced Android Developer to join Vanguard mobile development. You will build modern Android apps using Kotlin, Jetpack Compose, and MVVM in a hybrid, Malvern, PA environment. The role requires REST API integration with Retrofit/OkHttp, coroutines, and strong testing with Espresso.

Collaborate in an Agile team with QA, product, and engineering, and contribute to observability via Splunk and Honeycomb. This contract role is W2, locals only, with hybrid work.

Qualifications

• Strong hands-on experience with the latest Android SDK and Android Studio.
• Proficient in Kotlin and modern Android development with Jetpack Compose.
• Experience implementing MVVM architecture and DI with Dagger/Hilt.
• REST APIs using Retrofit/OkHttp and Kotlin Coroutines for async code.
• Familiar with RxJava or similar reactive patterns and UI testing with Espresso.

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Android Developer to join our team supporting mobile application development for Vanguard. The ideal candidate will have strong hands‑on experience building modern Android applications using the latest Android SDK, Android Studio, Kotlin, Jetpack Compose, and modern architectural patterns.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain high-quality Android applications.
• Build modern, scalable, and maintainable mobile applications using Jetpack Compose and MVVM architecture.
• Develop and integrate RESTful APIs using Retrofit and OkHttp.
• Utilize Kotlin Coroutines for asynchronous programming.
• Work with reactive programming frameworks such as RxJava or similar technologies.
• Write and maintain automated UI and unit tests using Espresso and related testing frameworks.
• Use Git for source control and collaborative development.
• Monitor and troubleshoot application performance and production issues using Splunk.
• Work with Honeycomb for observability, monitoring, and troubleshooting.
• Collaborate with developers, QA engineers, product teams, and other stakeholders in an Agile environment.
• Follow Android development best practices, coding standards, and security guidelines.
