Job summary

VLink Inc. is seeking an Android Mobile Developer to join a large-scale project with onshore and offshore teams.

The Mobile Developer will work with Product Owners, SMEs, and Technical Managers to build native applications using Java and Kotlin, following customer patterns. The candidate should bring 7+ years in mobile development, strong MVVM experience, and familiarity with Android Studio, Gradle, Git, Postman, Firebase, and Google services.

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of experience with mobile development.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as Senior Android Developer to develop and enhance features for mobile apps.
  • Create and review technical designs for real world entities/ relationships/ scenarios and translate them into corresponding objects in mobile software.
  • Develop source code for mobile apps using languages like Java & Kotlin.
  • Effectively use software development IDEs (Integrated Development Environment) like Android Studio, Eclipse, and Xcode.
  • Review code from peers and respond to any code review comments to ensure code quality, consistency, and within unit test coverage.
  • Ensure that software design patterns like MVP (Model View Presenter), MVVM (Model View View Model) are strictly followed. The objective is to define consistent layers in the software to ensure maintainability and longevity of the code.
  • Effectively use version control systems like GIT to keep the software source code clean and always secure.
  • Participate and contribute to all Agile ceremonies like daily Scrum, Backlog refinement, Sprint planning, Retrospectives, Release planning etc.
  • Execute Spike stories to research, investigate, and estimate time and resource requirements for new features/enhancements with Product Owners.
  • Highlight any impediments, dependencies, and any potential risks affecting delivery of software features.
  • Conduct training and guide junior developers and new members.
  • Understand the requirements, current state architecture of the enterprise, and help product owners create a roadmap for future enhancements.
  • Develop mobile application code in coordination with other team members.
  • Integrate the mobile applications with the centralized authentication application.
  • Knowledge of biometric authentication and device capabilities like Camera, Phone state, Location, Notifications, Permissions management etc.
  • Create a Software Architecture Document, High-Level and Low-Level Design document, and Nonfunctional requirements for the project.
  • Work in an Agile environment and adapt to the changing needs and requirements of the business.
  • Always be ready to be hands-on to develop or fix issues to deliver on time and with the highest quality.
  • Work closely with BA/QA team members to create test plans and ensure that the issues are properly identified, fixed, and tested.
  • Groom the team and develop the application with customer-centric ideas and innovation as the core of every activity, helping the team attain a benchmark within the organization for others to follow and achieve.
  • Ensure that the app code always stays compliant with HIPAA, HIG, Internal architecture, Naming Conventions, and Accessibility guidelines.

Our client is looking for an Android Mobile Developer to join us. This candidate will serve as a technical expert of a large-scale mobile development project consisting of both onshore and offshore developers. The Mobile Developer will work together with Product Owners, Subject Matter Experts, and Technical Managers to build native applications. Required Qualifications:
  • 7+ years of experience with mobile development.
  • 5+ years of experience in Android development.
  • 4+ years of experience in Rest APIs and API Authentication.
  • Good experience working with design patterns like MVVM.
  • Experience working with tools like Android Studio, Gradle, Git, Postman, Firebase, and Google services.
  • Working experience in industry-standard protocols related API security, including OAuth, is a must.
  • Strong design and programming skills using layouts & Jetpack Compose.
  • Strong background working with Android tech stack including libraries like Retrofit, GSON, RxJava, Kotlin coroutines etc.
  • Knowledge on databases, rules, and CRUD operations.
  • Strong agile/scrum experience.
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills within distributed project teams.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
