Job summary

The Washington Post is seeking a Software Engineer to bolster our Android apps engineering team, delivering compelling mobile experiences for millions of readers across the U.S. You will participate in design, development, and testing to ship robust native apps on a fast cadence.

You will design and implement features, integrate ad formats and measurement, and collaborate with product and data teams to improve user engagement and app reliability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field.
• Minimum 2 years of Android SDK experience.
• Strong Java/Kotlin and performance optimization skills.
• Experience releasing apps to Google Play Store.
• Familiar with mobile advertising frameworks and AI tooling.
