Job summary

Startekk Inc. is seeking an experienced Operating Room Registered Nurse (OR RN) for a contract assignment in Anchorage, Alaska.

The ideal candidate will have perioperative nursing expertise and thrive in a fast-paced surgical setting while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to deliver exceptional patient care. Responsibilities include preparing operating rooms and sterile equipment, assisting surgeons and anesthesia providers, maintaining sterile technique, and documenting in Epic EMR.

Qualifications

• Active RN license.
• Minimum 2 years of recent Operating Room (OR) experience.
• Experience with Epic EMR preferred.
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications.
• Strong knowledge of aseptic technique and perioperative nursing practices.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive nursing care to surgical patients before, during, and after procedures.
• Prepare operating rooms, surgical instruments, and sterile equipment.
• Assist surgeons and anesthesia providers throughout surgical procedures.
• Maintain strict sterile technique and infection prevention standards.
• Monitor patient status during surgery and respond appropriately to changes.
• Perform accurate patient assessments and documentation using Epic EMR.
• Ensure patient safety through proper positioning, instrument counts, and adherence to surgical protocols.
• Collaborate with surgeons, surgical technologists, anesthesia staff, and PACU teams.
• Provide patient and family education regarding surgical procedures and recovery.
