Job summary

Anchorage Daily News in Anchorage, Alaska, is seeking a Multi-Media Sales Representative to grow a local client base across digital, print, and event sponsorships. You will prospect, cold-call, and meet with potential advertisers, then manage relationships and deliver campaigns from start to finish.

The ideal candidate is driven, has strong presentation and consultative selling skills, and can work independently in a fast-paced environment while supporting local businesses and the newsroom.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in sales, preferably in media, marketing, or advertising.
• Strong ability to develop and maintain client relationships and drive revenue.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, both verbal and written.
• Proficient in creating compelling proposals and managing contracts and campaigns.
• Experience with digital advertising, print media, and event sponsorships is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Meet and exceed monthly sales goals by securing new revenue streams from prospective clients.
• Develop and maintain strong client relationships, identifying and engaging new advertisers.
• Define and pursue a list of potential clients, consulting with them on business issues and marketing objectives.
• Develop innovative proposals and deliver strategic sales presentations to clients.
• Mentor new Sales Representatives as they join the team.
• Collect payments for advertising and ensure accurate placement and execution of ads.
• Resolve sales or delivery issues promptly to maintain client satisfaction.
• Monitor competitive media, market trends, and client industries to identify opportunities to increase market share.
• Create and maintain reports on territory performance and strategic acquisition initiatives.
• Attend and actively participate in training and planning sessions to enhance skills and strategies.
• Uphold organizational values by treating others with respect, maintaining integrity, and inspiring trust.
