Job summary

A3 Technology, Inc. seeks a Weather Camera Systems Engineer to design, implement, and sustain critical weather camera infrastructure across Alaska, Hawaii, and CONUS. This role blends systems engineering with hands-on fieldwork to improve aviation safety nationwide.

The position is 100% on-site in Anchorage, AK, with travel to remote locations as needed. You will develop EDIPs, perform site surveys, and coordinate with FAA and stakeholders to deliver reliable weather data for pilots and air

Qualifications

• Competent Person Climber and Rescue certification is required.
• Experience in systems engineering, infrastructure deployment, or field engineering projects.
• Experience conducting site surveys and engineering analyses.
• Familiarity with infrastructure installation and systems integration.
• Experience in telecommunications, aviation, or mission‑critical infrastructure.
• Ability to obtain/maintain FAA public trust clearance.

Responsibilities

• Provide engineering support for the FAA Weather Camera Program, including design, implementation, and modernization of weather camera infrastructure.
• Develop and maintain EDIPs for new and upgraded camera installations.
• Perform analyses to ensure systems meet operational, environmental, and reliability requirements.
• Support configuration management to maintain system integrity throughout the project lifecycle.
• Conduct site surveys/evaluations to determine suitability for new weather camera installations.
• Assess existing sites for reliability and upgrade potential; document findings and recommendations.
• Coordinate with FAA, property owners, utilities, and stakeholders for project planning and execution.
• Support site acquisition, lease coordination, and real estate activities as needed.
• Coordinate installation, testing, commissioning, and acceptance of site work.
• Produce final project documentation, drawings, and as‑built records.
• Provide technical writing and documentation support for engineering packages and procedures.
