Job summary

Hearst Television in Rogers, AR seeks an Anchor/Reporter to bring energy to the anchor desk and report on big stories from the field. You will enterprise exclusives, write and edit scripts with viewer interaction in mind, and mentor other staff as needed.

The role requires strong live reporting skills, the ability to work under tight deadlines, and a commitment to journalistic integrity. In-person attendance is expected.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of anchor experience required.
• 2+ years of reporting experience required.
• Demo reel should reflect daily work.
• Must connect with viewers and report on stories.
• Operate mobile transmission devices and use latest tech.
• Able to work in all weather, varied shifts incl. overnights/weekends.

Responsibilities

• Deliver scripted and ad-lib material with professionalism and personality.
• Guide reporters and producers in newscast production.
• Plan and gather stories for day-of news or special projects.
• Develop exclusive content with enterprise angles and tips.
• Build a network of sources for breaking stories.
• Represent the station at public events.
• Contribute video, photos, and text updates to mobile platforms.
