Job description

The Anatomy Lab Facilities Manager for Lincoln Memorial University – DeBusk College of Osteopathic Medicine, Orange Park, is responsible for the day-to-day management of the location facilities under the supervision of the DCOM Anatomy Department.

Required Qualifications

High School Diploma; five (5) or more years experience in college-based medical student education.

Job Duties
  • Promote the mission of Lincoln Memorial University to faculty, staff, students, and the community at large.
  • Foster effective working relationships among LMU faculty, staff, students, and the public.
  • Oversee on-site fresh, embalmed, and plastinated tissue; assist with donor procurement, utilization, disposal, and record keeping.
  • Maintain supervision of the Gross Anatomy Lab, morgue, tissue prep room, model room, and DCOM building.
  • Assist with student projects in the Gross Anatomy labs and plastination facility.
  • Ensure adherence to safety and security regulations in all Anatomy Department facilities.
  • Coordinate with campus safety on chemical storage, record keeping, and regulations.
  • Coordinate monthly cleaning schedules with housekeeping.
  • Oversee supplies, equipment, tools, technology, and PPE in laboratories.
  • Perform routine maintenance and safety checks on lab equipment.
  • Maintain quality control standards.
  • Educate students on proper care of anatomical donors and maintaining a quality work environment.
  • Ensure faculty and students have access to necessary materials and equipment.
  • Supervise the anatomy assistant regarding maintenance of specimens and setup of workshops.
  • Manage internal scheduling for labs, including workshops and special presentations.
  • Collaborate with administrative staff on lab needs.
  • Advise on operations of the Anatomical Donation Program.
  • Collaborate with campus and department staff to ensure a safe learning environment.
  • Maintain monthly inventory of supplies and specimens.
  • Coordinate with department chair on compliance and record keeping.
  • Manage day-to-day lab usage and responsibilities.
  • Ensure proper care and maintenance of facilities by faculty, students, and staff.
  • Participate in university committees.
  • Handle communication tasks such as answering calls and providing information.
  • Complete accreditation and operational reports.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
