Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a Part-time Lab Assistant at WFUSM- Charlotte to support anatomy labs. The role requires a current WFUSM-CLT medical student (MS1) who has completed relevant anatomy coursework and can follow donor respect and safety guidelines.

The position involves lab setup, specimen handling, and peer support during activities, with hours limited to 5 per week and precise hour tracking. Training and onboarding are provided.

Qualifications

• Current WFUSM-CLT student in good standing and able to participate in anatomy labs.
• Completion of MS1 anatomy coursework is required to assist with materials.
• Must adhere to donor respect and professionalism guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Assist with laboratory setup and rotation, including plastinated specimens and models.
• Move, rotate, position, and organize anatomical specimens as directed.
• Provide limited peer-level support to MS1 students during group activities.
• Complete onboarding materials including safety expectations and logistics.
• Follow all safety procedures for specimen handling and PPE.
• Communicate scheduling, availability, and responsibilities promptly.
• Accurately track and submit hours worked per institutional procedures.
• Collaborate respectfully with students, faculty, staff, and other lab assistants.
