Job summary

Job description

The Duke Department of Pathology seeks a dynamic Anatomic Pathologist for a full‑time position at Duke University in Durham, NC. Ideally this pathologist will cover at least two of the following service areas: Cytopathology, Breast, Genitourinary, and Head & Neck. The department is dedicated to delivering accurate, concise, and timely pathology services to patients and their physicians.

Opportunity
  • Join a rich training environment at Duke, with participation by students, residents, and fellows.
  • This position is based on the campus of Duke University Hospital in Durham, North Carolina.
  • There is opportunity for teaching and resident education as well as collaboration with the predominantly subspecialty-based pathology faculty.
  • Faculty appointment with the Duke School of Medicine at the Assistant, Associate, or Professor level. Academic rank and salary will be commensurate with experience.
Qualifications
  • Demonstrated experience and/or additional training in anatomic pathology, preferably breast and gynecologic pathology, and/or cytopathology fellowship training.
  • MD or DO degree, a valid North Carolina medical license or qualification to obtain one, and ABP Board Certification in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology.
  • Fellowship training and/or sign‑out experience in the desired practice areas is strongly preferred.
  • Excellent diagnostician with superior communication skills and teamwork orientation.
