Job summary

ASIP in Phoenix, AZ seeks a qualified Anatomic and Clinical Staff Pathologist to join the Phoenix VA's PALMS service. The role may include subspecialty coverage as training permits (dermatopathology or hematopathology).

The incumbent will provide diagnostic services, sign-out surgical pathology, cytopathology and autopsy cases, and participate in teaching and quality assurance within a comprehensive VA pathology program in Phoenix.

Qualifications

• U.S. citizenship required and eligible for VA appointment.
• Proficiency in spoken and written English.
• Medical Doctor degree from LCME/AOA-accredited school or equivalent.
• Full and unrestricted medical license in a U.S. state.
• Completion of pathology residency training with board eligibility or certification.

Responsibilities

• Provide diagnostic pathology services including anatomic and clinical pathology.
• Interpret surgical pathology, cytopathology, and autopsy specimens as assigned.
• Provide clinical laboratory consultation and quality assurance duties.
• Participate in teaching residents and medical students as needed.
• Maintain 24-hour on-call coverage as scheduled.
