Job summary

Electronic Arts is seeking a motivated student for a full-time paid internship in the summer of 2027. You will analyze gameplay data for EA SPORTS titles like Madden NFL and College Football, using SQL, Python, or R to test hypotheses and drive retention insights.

  • Pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in CS, statistics, economics, math, data science, or related field.
  • Experience with SQL and familiarity with Python, R, or similar analytical tools.
  • Awareness of modern modeling techniques and statistical applications.
  • Passion for gaming and familiarity with Madden/College Football or sports games.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze gameplay and player behavior data across Madden and College Football EA SPORTS franchises.
  • Use SQL, Python, R, or similar tools to test hypotheses and identify retention/engagement drivers.
  • Build an analytical project from problem definition through final presentation with analytics team support.
  • Propose and build novel analyses using game knowledge.
  • Translate complex analyses into clear findings for Analysts, PMs, and Game Designers.

Summary

Reporting to the Director of Analytics, you will use data to optimize the gameplay systems that power world-class EA SPORTS titles like Madden NFL, directly influencing the experiences of millions of players worldwide.

Responsibilities
  • Analyze gameplay and player behavior data across Madden and College Football EA SPORTS franchises.
  • Use SQL, Python, R, or similar tools to test hypotheses and identify behaviors associated with retention and engagement.
  • Build a meaningful analytical project from problem definition through final presentation with support from the analytics team.
  • Use game knowledge to propose and build novel analyses
  • Translate complex analyses into clear findings for fellow Analysts, Product Managers, and Game Designers.
Qualifications
  • Pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Economics, Mathematics, Data Science, or a related field.
  • Experience with SQL and familiarity with Python, R, or similar analytical tools.
  • Awareness of modern modeling techniques and statistical applications
  • Passion for gaming; familiarity with Madden, College Football, American football, or sports games.

You must be available for a full-time paid internship in the summer of 2027.

At this time, we are considering Undergrad students who will be enrolled in an accredited degree program in the summer of 2027, slated to graduate no earlier than December 2027. Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis during the 12-week internship. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
