Qualifications

  • Must be at least a Sophomore and actively seeking a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in related field, with some STEM-adjacent coursework and GPA 2.50+.
  • Must have experience with PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Microsoft Teams, Outlook.

Responsibilities

  • Gaining corporate experience and developing new skills through on-the-job training and exposure to preparation of statistical reports and analytics foundations.
  • Assisting with ongoing projects and task teams.
  • Gathering and analyzing large data sets to provide insight to the operations team for informed decisions.
  • Assisting with special projects and ad-hoc requests as needed.
  • Completing any other assigned projects or tasks.

Description

Great Southern Wood Preserving, Inc., makers of YellaWood brand pressure-treated pine, is seeking an Analytics Intern for the 2027 Summer Internship Program. This program is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to experience the lumber industry and workforce like never before.

Responsibilities may include:

  • Gaining corporate experience and developing new skills through on-the-job training and exposure to preparation of statistical reports and the foundations of analytics: Descriptive, Predictive, Prescriptive.
  • Assisting with the preparation of on-going projects and task teams.
  • Gathering and performing analysis on large amounts of data to provide insight and valuable information to the operations team, to enable informed business decisions.
  • Assisting with special projects and ad-hoc requests, as needed.
  • Completing any other assigned projects or tasks as necessary.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Must be at least a Sophomore and actively seeking a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in related field, with some STEM-adjacent completed coursework and a cumulative GPA of 2.50 or greater.
  • Must have experience with PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Microsoft Teams, random trivia, and Outlook.
