Job summary

Aperia is seeking an Analytics Engineer to design the merchant data foundation and end-to-end analytics on a small, high-impact team in New York City. You will own data modeling, ingestion, and BI outputs that drive business decisions in a fast-moving fintech environment.

You will work across data engineering, analytics engineering, and BI, handling ad hoc requests from senior leadership and building reliable pipelines with solid testing and monitoring.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS, analytics, engineering, or related field.
• 4+ years designing data models and pipelines and handling ad hoc analytics requests.
• Advanced SQL and Python.
• Strong Snowflake experience (ingestion, transformations, governance) and can operate independently.
• Proven ability to break ambiguous problems into structured components.
• Strong analytical and systems-design skills.

Responsibilities

• Designs the merchant data foundation and model while it's still taking shape, builds analytics end-to-end on a small, high-impact team.
• Goes deep into datasets, shapes infrastructure, and drives business decisions in a fast-paced environment.
• Operates across data engineering (~10%), analytics engineering (~80%), and BI (~10%), partnering with business stakeholders.
• Handles regular ad hoc requests from senior management with imperfect data.
• Creates reliable pipelines and clean, consumable datasets for downstream users.
• Develops, tests, and monitors analytics pipelines and data models.
