The Analytics Engineer, Business Solutions bridges how Vertex's brands operate with data models, dashboards, and internal apps, partnering with FP&A, Marketing, Operations, and the Data & AI Engineering team to turn ambiguous problems into trusted analytics solutions.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience as a Data Analyst, BI Analyst, Business Analyst, or Analytics Engineer.
• Strong SQL skills with experience building data models from business requirements.
• Experience developing data models using dbt or the ability to quickly learn modern data transformation frameworks.
• Experience building dashboards in Sigma or comparable business intelligence platforms such as Power BI, Tableau, or Looker.
• Experience building lightweight internal applications using AI-assisted coding tools.
• Familiarity with Git, GitHub, and collaborative software development practices.
• Strong analytical thinking and business curiosity with the ability to validate data against operational reality.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate technical concepts into business solutions.
• Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, fast-paced, and entrepreneurial environment.
• Strong critical thinking, adaptability, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary point of contact for data and BI requests from FP&A, Marketing, Operations, and stakeholders.
• Build and maintain dashboards and analytical reporting that drive actionable business insights.
• Develop gold-layer data models using dbt and SQL, transforming requirements into scalable datasets.
• Build lightweight internal applications using AI-assisted development tools and CI/CD workflows.
• Identify manual workflows and implement lightweight automation to improve efficiency.
• Validate data and reporting against operational source systems, including ServiceTitan.
• Translate ambiguous business requests into clearly defined technical requirements and implementation plans.
• Identify opportunities for AI, automation, and reusable logic to reduce manual work.
