Job summary

Matrix is seeking an Analytics Engineer to join our Data & Analytics team, bridging data engineering, analytics, and AI to transform raw data into trusted, scalable data products that drive decision-making.

You will design and maintain dbt models in our cloud data warehouse, build ELT pipelines with Airbyte, and develop data marts that support reporting, self-service analytics, data science, and AI initiatives.

Qualifications

• 2-4 years of experience in Analytics Engineering, Data Engineering, BI Engineering, or similar role.
• Strong experience with dbt for data modeling, transformation, testing, and documentation.
• Advanced SQL skills with experience developing complex analytical datasets.
• Experience with cloud data warehouses such as Redshift, Snowflake, BigQuery, or equivalent.
• Working knowledge of Python for data processing or automation.
• Experience building ELT/ETL pipelines with Airbyte, Fivetran, or similar.
• Understanding of dimensional modeling, star schemas, and analytics-focused data architecture.
• Familiarity with Git and collaborative software development practices.
• Experience with BI and visualization tools like Tableau.
• Comfortable leveraging AI-powered development tools to improve productivity.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Must be based in the United States.
• Bachelor's degree in relevant field or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable dbt models powering reporting and analytics.
• Build and manage data marts supporting BI, self-service analytics, predictive analytics, and AI insights.
• Translate requirements into reliable, reusable data models with analysts and stakeholders.
• Develop and maintain a consistent semantic layer for accurate reporting.
• Build, manage, and troubleshoot ELT pipelines using Airbyte and related tools.
• Collaborate with Data Engineering to maintain end-to-end data platform.
• Support onboarding of new B2B clients with client-specific data models and workflows.
• Monitor and optimize warehouse performance for cost and efficiency.
