Job summary

Vizient, Inc. is seeking an Analytics Engineer to enhance data analytics infrastructure and enable seamless data access and visualization. You will support AI/ML initiatives and collaborate with analysts and technical teams to bridge gaps across departments.

You will develop analytics products, translate requirements into user stories, maintain backlogs, and build scalable data warehouse models using Power BI and MicroStrategy. A healthcare background is a plus.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or relevant field a plus.
  • 2+ years of data analysis experience required.
  • Analytics Engineer/BI Developer/Data Scientist experience preferred.
  • Healthcare experience is preferred.
  • Background in data warehouse design including dimensional modeling and data mining.
  • Understanding of database management systems, OLAP and ETL frameworks.
  • BI technologies including Power BI or MicroStrategy preferred.
  • Knowledge of SQL queries and SSIS preferred.
  • Proactive, innovative mindset with strong analytical skills.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure visualization options fit the tech stack; verify analytics correctness.
  • Generate test plans and perform functional regression testing.

Analytics Engineer Summary:

In this role, you will enhance our data analytics infrastructure. You will ensure seamless data accessibility, visualization, and cross-functional collaboration, while supporting Artificial Intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) initiatives. You will leverage your expertise in data engineering, analytics, and collaboration to bridge the gap between analysts and technical teams.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop medium complexity analytics products (e.g., more than 1 MB and less than 1 GB volume) or new stories requiring collaboration with others
  • Gather, analyze, and document user requirements and translate them into user stories, with minimal guidance
  • Conduct stakeholder interviews to gather requirements and understand current business processes, partnering with other team members
  • Develop and maintain product backlog(s) with minimal guidance
  • Implement requirements traceability from user stories to product features, with minimal guidance
  • Observe and participate in discovery workshops to aid in requirements discussion
  • Writes SQL code, with minimal guidance
  • Develop logical and physical models to support a scalable architecture (e.g., used to build out a data warehouse), with minimal guidance
  • Evaluate physical data models to ensure they align to the corresponding logical data models
  • Create packages for use in ETL
  • Utilize technologies (e.g., Automic) to schedule packages
  • Participate in architecture / design sessions
  • Participate in visualization / design sessions
  • Ensure requested solutions are available in the technology stack (e.g., if someone requests a waterfall chart, can it be built using our technology) by understanding visualization options within the technical product being used
  • Generate test plans to verify the solution creates the correct analytics
  • Conduct functional system regression testing and writes SQL to analyze data from systems and applications
  • Conduct investigation, diagnosis, and resolution of product inconsistencies
  • Use Power BI and MicroStrategy as core tools to develop, maintain, and support high-quality analytics products using data from our members.
  • Manage the full lifecycle of analytics solutions, including gathering business requirements, designing, developing, testing, deploying, maintaining, and performing quality assurance across multiple business domains.
  • Use AI tools appropriate to improve efficiency, validate report accuracy, optimize performance, and support data analysis.
  • Collaborate with clients and cross-functional teams in an agile environment to translate business requirements into scalable business intelligence solutions using multiple data sources, technologies, and reporting platforms.
Qualifications:
  • Relevant degree preferred.
  • Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or relevant field a plus.
  • 2 or more years of relevant data analysis experience required.
  • Experience as an Analytics Engineer, BI Developer or Data Scientist highly preferred.
  • Healthcare experience is preferred.
  • Background in data warehouse design including dimensional modeling and data mining.
  • Understanding of database management systems, online analytical processing and ETL framework.
  • Familiarity with BI technologies including Microsoft Power BI or MicroStrategy preferred.
  • Knowledge of SQL queries and SSIS preferred.
  • Proven ability to take initiative and be innovative.
  • Analytical mind with strong problem-solving aptitude.
Estimated Hiring Range:

The current salary range for this role is $68,500.00 to $116,300.00. This position is also incentive eligible.
