How You'll Help:

You will work closely with client partners to understand their analytical needs, evaluate key performance metrics, and analyze trends. The ideal candidate will possess superior technical ability as well as effective communication and relationship management skills.

What You Will Do:

  • Develop familiarity with the HelioCampus data platform in one or two primary areas of the business to help guide client partners in the use of the platform to answer strategic institutional questions.
  • Conduct data analysis to identify trends, patterns, and anomalies in the data to discover actionable information in support of strategic decision-making.
  • Serve as the liaison between HelioCampus and one or more client points of contact (POCs), working closely with business stakeholders to translate and interpret business and data requirements between the client and internal HelioCampus technical/data teams.
  • Develop interactive and intuitive reports, dashboards, and data visualizations using BI tools such as Tableau, Power BI, QlikView, or others. Leverage enterprise business intelligence tools, SQL queries, and other tools to develop dashboards and reports
  • Contribute to the enhancement of data products by working with functional and technical resources to identify and validate improvements using SQL and/or scripting languages such as Python/R.
  • Provide direct support to business users in accessing and exploring existing data products and enhance existing documentation, as necessary
  • Help to maintain the accuracy and quality of a large suite of dashboards and data extracts. Triage data-related issues/questions and work with data engineers to provide timely resolutions.

You Will Be a Good Fit For This Role If You Have:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution of higher learning with 2-3 years of work experience or Master’s degree with 1-2 years of experience
  • 2-3 years of experience performing analytic functions in education, marketing, eCommerce, financial or related industry
  • Strong communication skills and experience presenting findings to business stakeholders
  • Ability to articulate insightful and relevant questions and develop appropriate approaches to answering these questions
  • Skill leveraging SQL, Excel, and data visualization tools such as Tableau to manipulate, analyze and present data
  • Knowledge of SQL, R/ Python queries to build reports and conduct advanced quantitative analysis
  • Experience leveraging enterprise reporting tools to develop dashboards and reports
  • Experience working with one or more SIS, HR, CRM, Financial, ERP and Learning Management systems data
  • Ability to work effectively and independently to manage multiple priorities with various deliverable dates
  • Experience working closely with both business users and technical development teams

Nice To Have’s Include:

  • Experience building reports and dashboards in Tableau. Familiarity with one or more key areas of higher education (e.g. financial aid, admissions, advancement, student affairs)
  • Knowledge of one or more of the following systems: PeopleSoft Campus Solutions, Desire2Learn Brightspace, Salesforce CRM/Marketing Cloud, or Workday HCM or Finance
  • Familiarity with relational data warehouse concepts and experience working with large data sets

Location:

This specific role is primarily remote, with occasional travel to a HelioCampus office or the primary client’s site in the DC, Maryland, Virginia area. HelioCampus follows US East Coast working hours. Candidates in the DC, Maryland, Virginia area or the East Coast are preferred.
