Analytics Data Integration Developer - Senior (Remote)

UPMC Health Plan has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Analytics Data Integration Developer position within the Health Economics team. This is a full-time, remote role, working Monday through Friday during daylight hours.

The Senior Analytics Data Integration Developer will be responsible for developing and maintaining high-quality data sources to support operations and analytics. The role requires collaboration with stakeholders to understand organizational needs, building repeatable and consumable data layers for health economics activities such as strategic analysis, predictive modeling, and program evaluation. The ideal candidate is curious, detail-oriented, self-motivated, and able to work independently and in teams. They will also help educate colleagues on existing data solutions.

Responsibilities include:
  1. Developing complex integrated data sets for analysis, data science, and decision support.
  2. Validating data quality and ensuring standards are met.
  3. Investigating data errors and variances, proposing solutions.
  4. Recommending data extraction and manipulation methodologies.
  5. Providing technical consultation to peers and leadership.
  6. Training new staff and maintaining project documentation.
  7. Meeting deadlines, possibly requiring extended hours.
  8. Maintaining communication and relationships across departments.
  9. Adhering to policies and procedures.
  10. Supporting team leadership with work distribution.
Key Skills and Experience:
  • Proficiency in SQL and/or SAS; experience with R is a plus.
  • Experience with large data set extraction, manipulation, and management.
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and time management skills.
  • Attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience with visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau, QlikView) and cloud platforms (Snowflake, Azure) is highly desirable.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in information systems, healthcare management, or related field; Master’s preferred.
  • At least five years of relevant experience, preferably in healthcare or a related industry.
  • Proficiency in SQL/SAS and data manipulation.
  • Experience with visualization tools and cloud data platforms is a plus.
  • Act 34 clearance required.
