Job summary

Octant Bio in Emeryville, CA seeks an Analytical Scientist to expand the Navigator platform for high-throughput ADMET datasets and mechanistic DMPK models. The role blends lab-based chemistry with computational/data skills to drive innovation.

The candidate will develop high-throughput DMPK assays, deploy LC-MS methods across RP/HILIC/SFC/2D-LC/MS, and analyze data with R/Python, collaborating with ML, software, biology, chemistry, and automation teams.

Qualifications

• PhD in Analytical Chemistry, Biochemistry, Chemistry or related discipline.
• 3–5 years post-PhD analytical/bioanalytical experience.
• Expertise with HPLC/UPLC, LC-MS, CAD/MS, EchoMS; multiple modes (RP, NP, HILIC, SEC, SFC, 2D-LC/MS).
• Strong DMPK knowledge; BBB assay development preferred.
• Experience with data systems and analysis in R and Python.
• Hands-on with lab automation and high-throughput screening.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement high-throughput DMPK assays for ML methods.
• Develop chromatographic and mass spectrometric methods (RP, HILIC, SFC, 2D-LC/MS) for small molecules.
• Design and troubleshoot LC-MS/MS and UHPLC methods across complex matrices.
• Analyze complex data with R/Python and present findings to teams.
• Collaborate with ML, software, biology, chemistry, and automation engineers.
