Job summary

AmSpec Services in Alabama is seeking a laboratory technician to perform tests on samples for quantitative analysis, quality control, and process control, while maintaining lab equipment and ensuring safety compliance.

The role includes reviewing work orders, executing analyses per standards, documenting results, and preparing analytical reports. Candidates should have a high school diploma (some college preferred) and be able to work independently after training.

Qualifications

• High school diploma; some college credits preferred.
• Basic computer, math and science skills.
• Ability to grasp new procedures and work independently after training.
• Ability to communicate effectively with employees, outside consultants, and management.
• Thorough understanding of safety and training issues.

Responsibilities

• Receiving, reviewing and understanding work orders for all received samples.
• Performing required analysis according to customer and industry standards and requirements.
• Documentation of each test result neatly and accurately.
• Preparation of corresponding analytical reports.
• Performing quality assurance/quality control testing and assisting with control charts.
• Maintaining laboratory instruments, equipment, and supplies.
• Perform other related duties as required and assigned.
• Safety Sensitive position that requires pre-employment, random and annual drug and alcohol testing (including marijuana testing).
