Job summary

AmSpec Group is seeking a Laboratory Technician to perform tests on samples for quantitative analysis, quality control and process control, and to assist with general maintenance of lab equipment.

Responsibilities include reviewing orders, conducting analyses, documenting results, and preparing reports. The role requires attention to safety, and may involve drug and alcohol testing as part of a safety-sensitive environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent; some college credits preferred.
• Basic computer, math and science skills are required.
• Ability to quickly learn new procedures and work independently after training.
• Strong communication with colleagues, consultants and management is essential.
• Solid understanding of safety and training requirements.

Responsibilities

• Review work orders and understand sample requirements.
• Perform analyses according to customer and industry standards.
• Document test results neatly and accurately.
• Prepare analytical reports corresponding to tests.
• Conduct QA/QC testing and assist with control charts.
