Job summary

Actalent is seeking a Lab Technician to support analytical testing in a quality-driven production setting in Marion, IN. You will operate ICP-OES/ICP-MS, XRD, and related techniques to generate data, troubleshoot processes, and drive improvements.

A chemistry-related degree with 1–2+ years in a QC lab is required. You will draft SOPs, maintain calibration standards, analyze results in LIMS, and mentor technicians while ensuring data integrity and adherence to safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or master's degree in chemistry or related field.
• 1–2+ years operating ICP-OES/ICP-MS, XRD, or UV-Vis.
• Experience in a quality control laboratory environment.
• Proficiency with sample digestion for inorganic analysis.
• Experience with trace metals analysis and calibration materials.
• Strong statistics for quality control and method validation.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.

Responsibilities

• Ensure safety, environmental, and quality standards are met.
• Draft SOPs for equipment and processes.
• Operate and maintain ICP-OES/ICP-MS and XRD equipment.
• Prepare calibration standards and CRMs.
• Interpret and report results in LIMS to team.
• Support root cause investigations and nonconformances.
• Provide technical oversight of Technician B as needed.
• Identify opportunities to improve methods and instrument reliability.
