Job summary

Indium Corporation in Utica, NY is hiring for an Analytical Laboratory Technician II to perform chemical analyses on incoming samples and ensure quality standards. You will operate analytical instruments, prepare standards, and help train junior staff.

The role is full-time, on-site, with a Monday–Friday first shift. The posted wage is $18.00 to $23.00 per hour, with potential overtime and a total rewards package including health-related benefits.

Qualifications

• GED or high school diploma required.
• Associate degree in laboratory technology or bachelor's in chemistry/science preferred.
• 2 years of work-related experience required; 4 years preferred.
• Ability to train others.
• Knowledge of safe handling of chemicals and laboratory equipment.
• Overtime, including occasional Saturdays, may be required.
• Knowledge of spectroscopic instrumentation is a plus.
• Experience with wet chemistry techniques is a plus.
• Good communication, computer, and organizational skills.
• Basic math skills.
• Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions.

Responsibilities

• Log and distribute incoming samples of materials.
• Operate analytical instrumentation to analyze samples for elemental concentrations.
• Perform work under general supervision, seeking guidance as needed.
• Perform analysis using advanced methods as needed.
• Follow established procedures and regulations.
• Prepare laboratory standards.
• Mentor and train less experienced technicians.
• Interpret data for entry into the lab data system.
• Calibrate/standardize instruments when and where needed.
• Maintain a clean, uncluttered work area.
• Attend all required safety training and follow safety policies and procedures.
• Perform other duties or special projects as assigned.
