Job summary

Indium Corporation in Utica, NY, is seeking a Manufacturing Technician I to provide in-cell technical support and training for production staff, while assisting engineers in developing and implementing manufacturing processes.

The role requires strong hands-on mechanical skills, clear communication, and the ability to work with procedures and work instructions; shift is Monday–Friday, 1st shift 7:00am–3:30pm, at 111 Business Park Drive, Utica, NY.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED; Associates degree in a technical field preferred.
• Hands-on mechanical knowledge and experience.
• Communicates clearly and professionally in written and oral form.
• Able to operate virtual meeting platforms.
• Must possess a high degree of energy and drive.
• Electrical and/or software development knowledge a plus.
• Provide own transportation for local/day travel between Indium Corporation facilities.

Overview

JOB SUMMARY: The Manufacturing Technician I provides full-time, hands-on support and guidance to production staff within assigned manufacturing cells. They may assist the engineering staff in developing and implementing various manufacturing processes.

Responsibilities

• Provide full-time, in-cell technical support, guidance, and training for manufacturing processes in support of Production Operators and Supervisors to resolve day-to-day issues.
• Serve as an immediate resource to Manufacturing Process Engineers, Production Operators, and Supervisors to confirm worker compliance with established procedures and work instructions.
• Verify and implement manufacturing procedures and work instructions.
• Integrate with manufacturing and quality personnel to proactively identify situations that may negatively impact the production of quality product.
• Routinely circulate within assigned areas and observe production.
• Monitor and verify equipment functionality.
• Actively participate in equipment installation and qualification.
• Be present, approachable, and encourage questions.
• Relay matters of concern to appropriate engineering staff.
• Participate in resolving issues and proactively look for, investigate, and identify opportunities for process improvement.
• Follow disciplined product/process development and change control methods.
• Keep team members and leaders updated on work status, issues, and other job-related items.
• Assist with projects managed by Engineering.
• Report to mentors and managers regularly.
• Function as an effective team member through collaboration, conflict resolution, encouragement, respectful interactions with co-workers, active listening, etc.
• Work on multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
• Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.

The salary range indicated in this posting represents the minimum and maximum of the range for the position. The actual range will vary based upon factors including, but not limited to, prior experience, knowledge, skill and education as they relate to the position’s qualifications, and internal equity. The posted salary range reflects just one component of our total rewards package. Other components include health, dental, and vision insurance, PTO, retirement plan, volunteer opportunities, paid holidays, overtime opportunities, and many more.

$16.50 per hour - $26.00 per hour

($34,000 - $54,000 annually)
