Job summary

Vulcan Elements Inc. in Benson, NC, seeks a senior laboratory leader to establish and operate its Benson analytic laboratory as a commercial capability.

You will oversee commissioning, qualification, and metrology, align SOPs, LIMS configuration, personnel readiness, and calibration systems to support raw materials through final product release. Working with R&D and pilot facilities, you will set analytical methods, ensure data integrity, manage budgets, and drive throughput, quality, and cost

Qualifications

• Master's or PhD in Analytical Chemistry, Chemistry, Materials Science or related field.
• 7+ years in analytical chemistry, materials characterization, metrology, or industrial lab leadership.
• Strong background with inorganic materials (metals, alloys, ceramics).
• Experience establishing/expanding analytical lab capabilities and instrument qualification.

Responsibilities

• Lead the establishment and commissioning of the Benson analyticallaboratory, defining capabilities to support raw materials, testing, characterization, and final product release.
• Lead procurement, installation, qualification, calibration of analytical and metrology equipment with internal teams to production readiness.
• Develop and execute laboratory readiness plans including instrumentation, standards, procedures, training, and maintenance.
