Job summary

Bristol Myers Squibb seeks an Associate Scientist in Analytical Development to develop fit-for-purpose analytical methods and support scale-up and process optimization for small molecules and ADC candidates.

You will collaborate with chemists, engineers, and scientists to deliver analytical insights, contribute to method development, and help drive innovative analytical approaches within CPD teams in New Brunswick, NJ.

Qualifications

• BS or MS in Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or equivalent, with 1–5 years of demonstrated pharmaceutical industry experience in relevant analytical techniques.
• Experience with various analytical techniques, including chromatography and/or spectroscopy preferred.
• Familiarity with modern laboratory equipment, automation, and digital tools.
• Demonstrated commitment to safety.
• Ability to execute and document scientific experiments and effectively communicate study results.
• Demonstrated problem solving skills and strong desire to grow scientifically.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Excellent interpersonal, collaborative, team building, and communication skills to ensure effective collaborations within matrix teams.
• Demonstrated performance against cooperation principles and enterprise mindset.

Responsibilities

• Development of in-process and release analytical methods throughout the synthetic chemistry of drug substances including chromatography-based methods (HPLC/UHPLC/SEC/GC/IC).
• Critical analysis of analytical results to improve robustness and understanding of quality attributes.
• Collaborate with other key scientists within the team.
• Demonstrate a can-do attitude and adaptability in a complex environment.
• Review and discuss analytical results and conclusions orally and in writing.
