Job summary

Vaxcyte is seeking a Scientist II, Analytical Development (Contract) to execute analytical testing and contribute to method development for biologics/vaccine programs. You will work on HPLC/UPLC, CE, UV-Vis, ELISA, and MS with cross-functional teams to ensure quality, data integrity, and timely delivery of results.

The role requires hands-on lab experience, strong problem-solving, and the ability to communicate findings clearly. Onsite work four days per week with an hourly compensation range.

Qualifications

• PhD, MS or Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biology, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or related field.
• Strong hands-on experience with multiple analytical techniques (UV-Vis, HPLC, CE, SDS-PAGE, icIEF, LC, MS, ELISA, Western Blot, PCR).
• Experience driving method development or optimization activities independently.
• Knowledge of analytical chemistry/biochemistry principles and data-driven decision making.

Responsibilities

• Design and execute method development, optimization and transfer activities with clear documentation.
• Perform routine and non-routine analytical testing using modern methods and control strategies.
• Summarize results, interpret data, and elevate complex findings for review with stakeholders.
• Train and mentor junior staff; ensure compliance with safety and data integrity practices.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet project timelines and quality standards.
