Job summary
Vaxcyte, Inc. in the San Francisco Bay Area is seeking a Scientist II, Analytical Development to execute analytical testing and contribute to method development for biologics/vaccine programs.
The role requires hands-on lab work, strong documentation, and collaboration with cross-functional teams. You will perform routine and non-routine assays (HPLC/UPLC, ELISA, SDS-PAGE, icIEF, UV-Vis), author protocols and reports, and mentor junior staff while advancing method development and data integrity
Qualifications
- PhD, MS or Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biology, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or a related scientific discipline.
Responsibilities
- Contribute to method development, optimization, and qualification/validation readiness activities.
- Design and execute experiments to evaluate analytical parameters and define control strategies.
- Troubleshoot assay and instrument performance issues with structured root-cause analysis.
- Author and revise analytical methods, SOPs, and technical reports for internal review.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define analytical plans and timelines.
- Communicate progress, risks, and results clearly to stakeholders.
- Train and mentor junior staff on assays and workflows.
