Job summary

AbbVie seeks a motivated summer intern in analytical chemistry to develop methods for late-stage and commercial small-molecule assets. You will work with HPLC, NIR/Raman, MS and peptide mapping, performing method development, instrument setup, sample prep and data-driven optimization.

The role requires wet-lab experience, collaboration across teams, and strong communication. Relocation support and competitive pay are offered for this location in Illinois.

Qualifications

• Currently a university student pursuing a BS in chemistry or related field.
• Must be enrolled for at least one semester after internship.
• Expected graduation between Dec 2027 – Jun 2028.
• Hands-on wet lab experience required.

Responsibilities

• Develop novel analytical methods and evaluate accuracy, precision and robustness.
• Interpret mass spectral data and build calibration models as needed.
• Support development of platform methods for peptide mapping and MS/MS-based analyses.
