Job summary

Lilly seeks an Analytical Chemist to characterize physicochemical properties and guide lead optimization in a small molecule discovery program. You will work with medicinal chemists to provide analytical insights that shape synthetic strategy and compound progression.

You will apply LC‑MS, SFC‑MS, LC‑MS/MS and related techniques to evaluate purity, stability, and molecular structure, contributing to decision making in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• PhD in Analytical Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or related field with 5+ years post-education LC‑MS/SFC‑MS experience.
• MS with 10+ years post-education LC‑MS/SFC‑MS experience is acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Design and execute physicochemical property tests (solubility, pKa, logD, stability) for NCEs and drug candidates.
• Develop and optimize LC‑MS methods for purity, identity, stability analyses.
• Process and interpret complex chromatographic data for cross‑functional teams.
• Maintain thorough lab notebooks and reports per company standards.
• Stay current with analytical chemistry advances and improve techniques.
