Job summary

Actalent is seeking an Analytical Chemist to join a collaborative lab focused on metal coatings and finishing applications. You will perform analytical testing, apply wet chemistry, and support technical service activities for Tier 1 and OEM customers.

During training you will work with experienced staff to learn internal processes and industry methods, contributing to routine testing and customer-focused projects while maintaining lab records and ensuring safety.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in chemistry; biochemistry may be considered as secondary option.
• 0–2 years of laboratory experience with wet chemistry.
• Proficiency with pH testing, viscosity testing, titrations, and related analyses.
• Strong documentation skills and accurate data recording.
• Ability to follow safety regulations for sample handling and disposal.
• Experience in a chemistry or wet chemistry laboratory environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily analytical testing for Tier 1 and OEM customers.
• Apply wet chemistry techniques including pH, viscosity, and titrations.
• Operate and support instruments (HPLC, UV-VIS, ICP, AA, XRF, Leica microscope).
• Record results in Excel and upload data to cloud system.
• Provide technical support to sales and service teams for internal projects.
• Develop and validate test methods for materials.
• Maintain equipment and calibration schedules.
• Follow safety and dispose of samples properly.
