Job Type: Full-time Monday - Friday 8:00AM - 5:00PMOne of the nation's largest independent testing facilities seeks an Analytical Chemist with a minimum 3 years experience in a GMP laboratory environment.MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTSTo perform this job, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily, and meet the educational and experience requirements.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Must have the technical ability to understand Standard Operating Procedures, test protocols and methods.
- Perform wet chemistry methods on raw materials and finished products
- Run HPLC/UPLC, ICP/MS, GC, UV, FTIR on products according to compendial, client and internal methodologies.
- Prepare standards and samples for analysis.
- Perform physical, chemical and instrumental techniques on APIs, raw materials and finished products.
- Document work clearly and accurately.
- Perform technical writing and peer review as needed.
- Capable of working in a fast paced environment.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor's degree in chemistry or other related degree, preferred.
- Minimum 3 years of product testing experience for pharmaceuticals and OTC products in a GMP laboratory.
- USP wet chemistry and physical parameters testing experience required.
- HPLC / UPLC experience required.
- ICP/MS, GC experience a plus.
- Previous data acquisition software (Totalchrome, Empower) experience a plus.
- ISO 17025 experience a plus.

- Strong communication skills (written and oral) with an attention to detail

- Excellent scientific and organizational skills.
- Ability to learn new techniques, multitask, follow instructions and comply with SOPs.

- Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTSOn an average 8-hour day this position requires the ability to walk, sit and stand, use hands to handle or feel, reach with hands and arms at or above shoulder height and below waist height, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch; talk, hear, and smell. This position requires the ability to lift up to 40 pounds. Standing for extended periods (up to 8 hours) while performing analysis work is required. Specific vision requirements including reading of written documents, visual inspection of materials for color and other product characteristics, and use of computer monitor screen frequently.
