Job summary

Messina Talent Advisors is seeking an Analytical Chemist (Chemist II) for a dynamic LC team in a modern laboratory. The role focuses on running LC-MS/MS instrumentation, ensuring data integrity, and maintaining high quality results for clients.

The candidate will develop and optimize LC methods, support R&D, and train colleagues while adhering to safety protocols and ISO17025 standards. Strong communication and multitasking are essential.

Qualifications

• BS in Chemistry or related science.
• 1+ years with LC-MS/MS instrumentation or GC.
• Proficiency with analytical software (Agilent MassHunter, SCIEX Analyst, Waters Acquity).
• Experience creating data packages and managing multiple priorities.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• 3+ years with LCMS in a high-throughput commercial lab.
• Experience with method development and MS/MS optimization.
• Experience with large-scale pesticide panels (100+ compounds).
• QuEChERS extraction technique experience.

Responsibilities

• Analyze samples using LC instrumentation with MS and MSMS detection.
• Follow validated methods and maintain ISO17025 standards.
• Troubleshoot analytical issues and optimize LC methods.
• Develop new methodologies and improve existing processes.
• Train and support other chemists in your department.
• Review colleagues' data packages for accuracy and completeness.
• Manage data entry and quality assurance in our LIMS.
• Partner across departments to meet business needs.
• Work safely with proper lab protocols and PPE.
