Job summary

Central Garden & Pet Company is seeking an experienced Scientist in Dallas, TX for analytical chemistry support on existing products and new registrations. You will operate and maintain laboratory instruments, perform analyses, and assist senior chemists in routine tasks.

The role requires strong skills in analytical and organic chemistry, with experience in HPLC/UPLC/GC and method development. On-site work five days per week is expected, with a focus on GLP/GMP compliance and regulatory

Qualifications

• Bachelor's in Chemistry or equivalent with 6+ years in analytical labs.
• Or Master's in Chemistry or equivalent with 4+ years in analytical labs.
• PhD in Chemistry or equivalent with 2+ years in analytical labs.
• Experience with HPLC/UPLC/GC method development and validation.
• Mass spectrometry experience is a plus.
• Superior verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform analyses as directed by supervisor and established procedures.
• Assist in developing and validating new test procedures for chemical analysis to meet regulatory requirements.
• Maintain, calibrate, and operate HPLC and GC instrumentation.
• Familiar with DSC, TGA, Karl Fischer, and FTIR techniques.
• Record data in laboratory notebooks and LIMS following GLP and GMP.
• Prepare SOPs and ensure compliance with GLP/FDA/US EPA guidelines.
• Serve as Analytical Chemistry representative on project teams and present progress reports.
• Keep abreast of technical developments through courses and seminars.
