Job summary

Tentamus North America seeks an Analytical Chemist I to join the Analytical Food Laboratories Team in Grand Prairie, Texas. You will work with advanced instrumentation to deliver results meeting high scientific standards in an accredited lab.

Responsibilities include testing, QC procedures, instrument maintenance, and adherence to GLP/ISO guidelines. Strong teamwork and attention to detail are essential for success in this role.

Qualifications

• Authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
• BS degree or higher in chemistry, biochemistry, or related science.
• 6 months of Wet Chemist II experience or related role.
• Experience with GC and/or ICP-MS is highly preferred.
• Preventative maintenance and troubleshooting experience is a plus.
• Ability to work and collaborate within a team structure.
• Possess strong attention to detail and strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform a variety of technical laboratory functions to support the daily operation, maintenance, and overall workflow of the chemistry laboratory.
• Follow all policies, SOPs, GLP, ISO/IEC 17025 and other accrediting bodies.
• Independently perform testing and quality control procedures, producing accurate, defensible, and traceable results within client timelines.
• Review client test requests, ensure alignment with reporting requirements, and follow approved testing methods.
• Identify, troubleshoot, and communicate issues with equipment, media, or test methods to leadership.
• Maintain accurate, legible, and traceable records with proper documentation practices.
• Apply Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) across activities and report accidents or malfunctions.
• Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot instrumentation (GC, ICP-MS, GC/MS, HPLC, LC/MS, UV-VIS, FTIR).
• Execute full sample workflow including prep, retention, disposal, QC samples, and maintenance.
• Develop proficiency in test methods, reagents, SOPs, and reference materials; understand expected results and flag non-conforming results.
• Evaluate test results against client specs or historical data and report anomalies to Lead Chemist or Chemistry Manager.
• Participate in routine laboratory cleaning and equipment maintenance.
• Be able to perform Wet Chemist I & II responsibilities or other duties assigned by Management.
