Job summary

L’Oréal USA is seeking a detail-oriented analytical chemist to support manufacturing by performing tests on preservatives and active ingredients, using HPLC and ICP-OES. You will ensure proper documentation and contribute to method validation and vendor management.

Responsibilities include investigations of out-of-spec results, data-driven decision making, and coordination with Laboratory Managers. Requires a BS in Chemistry and US work authorization.

Qualifications

• BS degree in Chemistry or relevant science background.
• 0-3 years' experience with HPLC / ICP-OES.
• Ability to work with urgency and resolve issues.
• Conscientious, reliable and responsible.
• Strong quantitative analytical skills and numerical accuracy.
• Independent decision making with escalation when needed.
• Excellent interpersonal communication across departments.
• Experience with Root Cause Analysis and troubleshooting.
• Ability to work independently and demonstrate leadership.
• Proficient in MS Office; SAP experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Conduct analytical testing (preservatives and active ingredients) per L’Oréal specs.
• Maintain traceability paperwork (lab notebooks, COA, results).
• Prepare, calibrate, validate reagents/equipment; calculate concentrations.
• Lead investigations for out-of-spec results and communicate findings.
• Release results into the Factory stock management system; support method transfers.
• Manage laboratory equipment vendors per safety and quality guidelines.
