Job summary

Certified Group in California is seeking a chemist to join our analytical team. You will perform a range of instrumental analyses, including GC, LC-MS, HPLC, ICP-OES, FTIR, and UV-Vis, on food, beverage, cosmetics, and related products while ensuring accuracy and timely results.

Responsibilities include preparing standards, maintaining inventory, calibrating instruments, participating in ISO 17025 proficiency testing, and generating clear reports.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or 2–3 years of lab experience.
  • Knowledge of GMP, GLP, and GDP standards.
  • Proficient with computers and data acquisition software.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
  • Solid foundation in analytical chemistry principles.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform standard laboratory techniques.

Responsibilities

  • Perform analyses using GC, LCMS, GCMS, HPLC, ICP/MS, ICP-OES, UV-VIS, FTIR, titration, gravimetric methods.
  • Prepare analytical standards and maintain inventory.
  • Conduct daily balance and temperature verifications; monthly pipette checks.
  • Process samples per SOPs.
  • Participate in ISO 17025 proficiency testing and other accrediting bodies.
  • Calibrate, maintain, and troubleshoot analytical instruments.
  • Support ISO QA/QC activities and documentation.
  • Maintain accurate analytical and quality records for accreditation and instrument performance.
  • Generate accurate, timely reports based on analytical results.
  • Identify and escalate results requiring investigation to management.
  • Participate in OOS investigations and CAPA activities when necessary.
  • Plan and prioritize work to meet deadlines and turnaround times.
  • Learn and apply new analytical techniques and technologies as needed.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Train new chemists as required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Summary

We are currently seeking a Chemist to join our growing team.

Responsibilities
  • Perform analyses using techniques such as GC, LCMS, GCMS, HPLC, ICP/MS, ICP-OES, UV-VIS, FTIR, titration, gravimetric analysis, and other appropriate methods, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Prepare analytical standards and maintain inventory.
  • Conduct daily balance and temperature verifications, as well as monthly pipette checks.
  • Process and prepare samples in accordance with standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Participate in proficiency testing as required by ISO 17025 and other accrediting bodies.
  • Calibrate, maintain, and troubleshoot analytical instruments.
  • Support ISO QA/QC activities and maintain proper documentation.
  • Maintain accurate analytical and quality records for accreditation and instrument performance.
  • Generate accurate, timely reports based on analytical results.

  • Participate in out-of-specification (OOS) investigations and CAPA activities when necessary.

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 9:00AM-5:30PM

The compensation details provided below reflect the expected pay range for this role, based on the selected compensation structure and applicable guidelines. Actual pay within this range may vary depending on factors such as experience, skills, qualifications, and geographic location. Additional components of total rewards—such as bonuses, benefits, or incentives—may also apply where applicable.

Salary Range for Pay Transparency

$29 - $35 USD
