Job description

Johns Hopkins, founded in 1876, is America's first research university and home to nine world-class academic divisions working together as one university.

Johns Hopkins Technology Ventures (JHTV), the university's technology commercialization division, is launching the JHTV Analyst Program, a structured two-year experiential learning opportunity designed for recent graduates interested in innovation, entrepreneurship, healthcare, science, business, law, technology, and public impact.

We are seeking an Analyst, Ventures & Capital Strategy who will contribute to high-priority strategic initiatives while gaining broad exposure to technology commercialization, startup formation, intellectual property, corporate engagement, venture funding, and innovation management. Through cohort-based learning, professional development programming, executive exposure, cross-functional projects, and mentorship, analysts develop the analytical, communication, and leadership skills that prepare them for graduate study or future careers across the innovation economy.

At the end of the two-year term, Analysts may be considered for open positions within JHTV or the university; however, continuation of employment beyond the term is not guaranteed.

The Analyst, Ventures & Capital Strategy will support startup portfolio management, translational funding programs, investor engagement activities, and strategic analysis. • Support business process improvement initiatives and recommend enhancements to tools, systems, workflows, and reporting practices.
  • Maintain accurate records, documentation, trackers, and project materials.
  • Build productive relationships across JHTV and the broader university community.
  • Present findings and recommendations to internal stakeholders and leadership.
  • Participate in cohort-based onboarding, professional development programming, mentorship opportunities, and cross-functional learning experiences.
  • Contribute to a capstone project and final presentation addressing a strategic opportunity or challenge within JHTV.
  • Support special projects and other duties as assigned.

  • Prepare analyses and presentation materials for interactions with venture capital firms and other external partners.
  • Support the management and analysis of a portfolio of more than140 startup companies.
