NRG Energy is seeking an Analyst for Structured Load Analytics in Houston, TX. You will operate and improve data from load forecasting products, manage forecasts and variance analysis, and report on retail power components. You will engage with stakeholders to explain results, drivers, and settlement analyses.
The role requires a quantitative degree and at least two years in load forecasting or related pricing and accounting roles; SQL knowledge is essential for data systems.
Analyst, Structured Load Analytics – Houston, TX
Primary responsibility: operation, maintenance and reporting of data from load forecasting and product control systems. Manage long‑term forecast updates, variance analysis, and reporting of retail power components. Communicate results, drivers, and feedback to stakeholders regarding forecast output, settlement analysis, and performance analytics.
• Bachelor's degree in Business, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Engineering, Financial Engineering, or other quantitative field. Advanced degrees desired.
• Minimum 2 years experience in load forecasting and advanced statistical methods or roles in product control, pricing, or accounting. Proficiency in system architecture for customer data, risk, and forecasting systems from a retail perspective. Working knowledge of SQL Server or Oracle SQL.
• Knowledge of:
Work in a fast‑paced environment; strong multitasking ability. Proficiency in application development and data visualization tools. Fundamental knowledge of weather and energy business for portfolio optimization.
