Job summary

Marwood Group is seeking an Analyst or Senior Analyst to support its Performance Improvement Practice in New York. You will collaborate on client engagements for healthcare providers and private equity sponsors, conducting analyses, building models, and delivering actionable insights.

You will develop presentations, track work plans, and contribute to a collaborative team culture. This role requires strong Excel and PowerPoint skills, excellent communication, and travel readiness as needed.

Qualifications

  • 1–3 years of professional experience in healthcare consulting, operations, or analytics.
  • Demonstrated ability to execute analysis and develop high-quality work products in a fast-paced environment.
  • Foundational understanding of healthcare finance, operations, and industry landscape.
  • Excellent communication skills, including PowerPoint proficiency.
  • Strong analytical skills, including Excel modeling and data visualization.
  • Experience in financial modeling, claims and clinical data analysis preferred.
  • Advanced degree preferred but not required (e.g., MBA, MHA).
  • Willingness and ability to travel as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct structured analyses, research, and assessments to support client engagements, including claims and clinical data analysis, financial modeling, operational assessments, and market / industry research.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in advanced Excel, PowerPoint, and basic statistical analysis.
  • Develop accurate, clear, and compelling presentations, analytical outputs, and supporting materials that communicate findings, risks, opportunities, and implications.
  • Build foundational understanding of the healthcare landscape, payment and provider operating models, analytical approaches and data sources, clinical workflows, policy and regulatory dynamics, and PE investment processes.
  • Speak confidently to your own work product in internal and client discussions, and contribute to positive day-to-day client interactions.
  • Leverage foundational understanding across functions (e.g., RCM, IT, ops, finance) to draw meaningful conclusions, identify client risks/opportunities, and drive superior results.
  • Own individual analyses and specific research for larger workstreams, proactively addressing risks and ensuring outputs are accurate and methodologically sound.
  • Support project coordination by taking detailed notes, tracking progress against workplans, supporting meeting preparation, and managing project logistics needs.
  • Contribute to a positive team environment by supporting colleagues, sharing knowledge, and helping build a trusting, collaborative team dynamic.
  • Add to the practice’s knowledge base, templates, tools, and training materials.
  • Recognize business development opportunities to add further value to clients, including potential scope expansions.

Our Performance Improvement (PI) Practice partners with institutional investors and healthcare organizations to drive value creation and strategic transformation initiatives across the healthcare ecosystem, including revenue optimization, operational excellence, and corporate development support.

We are seeking a highly motivated professional to join our PI Practice as an Analyst or Senior Analyst. This role is ideal for a highly organized, strong analytical and strategic thinker with an operational healthcare passion and a keen interest in private equity value creation, large-scale transformation, and performance improvement methods.

As an Analyst / Senior Analyst you will play a critical role supporting execution across complex client engagements supporting both private equity sponsors and corporate clients across the healthcare ecosystem. You will be responsible for supporting acquisition diligence and integration, analyzing, and executing against value creation and performance improvement opportunities, and delivering measurable results. You will also serve as an analytical enabler.

Key Responsibilities

Work Environment

Hybrid (3 days onsite, 2 days remote), Fully Remote Optional

Compensation is a salary commensurate with experience plus discretionary annual performance bonus and benefits package.
