CarMax is launching the Analyst Rotation Program (ARP) in Richmond, VA. This 2-year entry for analysts includes three 8-month rotations across teams, starting in Summer 2027.

You’ll work with industry-leading data to deliver insights, influence strategies, and grow through structured training and networking within a community of 200+ analysts. The program emphasizes professional development, leadership interaction, and hands-on problem solving, with on-site work at the Midtown or Home Office

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in analytical/quantitative major is required.
• 0-2 years of experience in an analytical role.
• Project work or internship in analytics is preferred.
• Proficiency with computers and database systems and/or software (SQL, Snowflake, Python, Tableau, PowerBI, MS Office).
• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills.

Analyst Rotation Program (ARP)

The Analyst Rotation Program (ARP) is your entry point into the CarMax Analyst Community. The program provides exposure to a variety of roles, allowing you to develop organization-wide context while building skills in analytics, strategy, communication, and influence. As a Business Analyst in the ARP, you’ll tackle unique and complex problems – making significant contributions to company success from day one.

The Program

• The Analyst Rotation Program (ARP) is a 2-year journey with three 8-month rotations across various teams within the CarMax analyst community with the cohort starting Summer 2027.
• Analysts start together as a cohort, sharing experiences and building strong connections throughout the program.
• The program focuses on professional development and career growth, offering diverse experiences, leadership interactions, formal training, and team-building activities.
• Analysts have a say in their roles during the program and upon graduation, often continuing careers post-ARP in areas they have previously worked.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree required, in an analytical/quantitative major preferred
• 0-2 years of experience in an analytical role

Work Authorization

Work Location:

This role will be based out of the CarMax Midtown Office or CarMax Home Office in Richmond, VA and associates will work onsite 4 days per week.

The Annual Salary For This Position Is

$68,300.00 - $102,500.00

May be eligible for bonus and equity.

Except as otherwise required by state law, CarMax Associates are entitled to the following paid sick, vacation, and holiday time.

Associates That Are Considered Full-time Hourly Or Commission/incentive Eligible

• To earn up to 48 hours of sick time per year accrued on a per pay period basis and between 80 hours and 200 hours per year of vacation time after a 90 day waiting period depending on years of continuous service with the Company.
• For 8 hours of pay for each of a total of 6 paid scheduled holidays per year plus 1 floating holiday. If such an Associate does work on a scheduled holiday due to business need, they are eligible for Holiday Premium Pay.

Associates considered full-time salaried are entitled to paid time away with no specified limit as needed for sick, vacation, bereavement, jury duty, holidays, floating holiday, etc. subject to manager approval.
